Moonlight and Jazz is Here!!!

Moonlight and Jazz is this Sunday. Thanks for you help in getting out the word about our premier fund raiser.  We have sold 184 tickets for this event! Rain or shine, we will perform at White Oak Plantation!

Here are the details:

Students in my fourth hour class (Advanced Band) will comprise our setup crew.  These students should report to the band room for 1 PM on Sunday, April 19 to help haul equipment, (music stands, amps, drum set, keyboard, and the small stage). It shouldn’t take more than an hour to an hour and a half to get everything over to White Oak. If you have a truck, we could sure use it, so please bring trucks if you have them.

Students in my sixth hour class (Percussion Ensemble) will comprise our breakdown crew.  These students should report to White Oak for 7:30 to bring our equipment back to school.  It shouldn’t take more than an hour to bring everything back to school. Again, we are asking that those of you with trucks to bring them to help haul equipment.

Finally, my Jazz Ensemble students should report to White Oak for a sound check for 4:15 PM.  We will have a 15 minute warmup and then we will do a sound check.  We will feed you at 4:50 and begin our concert promptly at 5:30. If you have left your instrument at school (and shame on you if you have because you should be keeping your chops in shape this week) you will need to report to the band room for 1:15 to get your instrument.  My set up crew will be setting up chairs, stands, keyboards, amplifiers, etc.  They will NOT be bringing your instrument for you.

Thank you again for your help and support. We look forward to making this event another wonderful experience for all involved.
